New program
The Modern Safety Toolkit: the manual nobody handed you
A new program of short, practical courses from On Point Training. Learn to read a situation, weigh a risk, and know what to do next.

Life skills for the 21st century
The world got faster, louder and more complicated, and nobody handed you the manual. Between the headlines, the group chats and the 11 p.m. thought about your kid's wellbeing or your mom's voicemail, it can feel like everything is stacked against you.
It isn't unbeatable. It's just unexplained. The Modern Safety Toolkit gives you the missing information, in short courses you take one at a time. Nothing here is built to frighten you, and none of it takes years. It takes a few hours, and a willingness to look at your own habits honestly.
What you'll be able to do
MST is made up of many courses, and each covers one area of the program. The goal is always the same: you finish able to make a better decision than you could have made before. Here are some examples...

Reading a situation early
Most situations hand you information long before they hand you a problem. MST is about reading a place or a conversation while it is still ordinary, so you have more time and more options when something changes.

Weighing risk without overreacting
Risk is rarely all or nothing, and it is easy to swing between ignoring it and being ruled by it. This program gives you a steady way to judge how likely something is, how much it would matter, and what actions or responses are required.

Keeping your digital life working for you
Your phone number, your accounts, your photos and your messages are part of your safety picture, not separate from it. This program covers what your accounts reveal about you, and what to do when something feels wrong.

Recognising coercive control
Control rarely looks like control from the inside. This program is about recognising the pattern while it is happening, understanding how it wears down a person's own judgement, and keeping a clear view of your options.

Avoidance, not engagement
This program is about doing everything possible to avoid situations which present greater risks than we are prepared to accept, without diminishing our quality of life. Better preparation allows us to relax while still remaining in control.

Knowing what to say, and what not to
Many situations in modern life carry legal risk and this runs perpendicular to human desire to explain ourselves, particularly when stressed. This program explains how what we say can often work against us.
How the program works
One program, many short courses
The Modern Safety Toolkit is one program made of many short courses. Each course is roughly 2 to 4 hours and is booked on its own, so you can move at your own pace and create your own path that relates to your unique lifestyle.
Courses are numbered in a progression: 101, 102, 103, then 201, then 301. The numbering exists so skills and knowledge build in the right order. Some courses may be omitted, but most will rely on content covered in earlier courses.

Your posts can say more than you think
Most of us post without a second thought: a photo of the front of the house, a check-in at the rink, a birthday shot with the school in the background. Individually, each one is nothing. Together, they describe where you go, when you are away, and who matters to you.
Part of The Modern Safety Toolkit program is learning to see your own digital footprint and understand how it connects to real, physical-world risk.
Who this is for
The Modern Safety Toolkit program is for almost everyone; if you are interested in protecting yourself from the evolving hazards of modern life, we have something for you. You need no background in any of this, just curiosity and a few hours.

Questions people ask
When can I take a course?
We expect to start running the courses by the start of 2027
How long is each course?
About 2 to 4 hours each. You can take one and stop, or work through the sequence.
Do I have to start at 101?
The program content for MST is iterative, meaning that the early courses are designed to instill the foundations upon which later courses rely. Some may not be required for progression, but it is a good idea to assume that the best experience will come from starting at the beginning.
Is this the same as your firearms courses?
No. The Modern Safety Toolkit is a separate program for a general audience and does not involve firearms at all.
Are courses in person or online?
Initially, MST will be in-person although we hope to start releasing online versions of each course by the end of 2027.
