Terms of use
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use are a legally binding agreement between you and On Point Training, a partnership registered in British Columbia, Canada (“we”, “us”, “our”). They apply when you use https://www.onpointtraining.ca (the “Website”), create an account, book a course, or attend a course we deliver.
By using the Website or booking a course, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Website or book a course.
If you are booking for another person, you confirm that you have their authority to provide their information and to agree to these terms on their behalf.
Definitions
Website means https://www.onpointtraining.ca and the booking system connected to it.
Services means the Website, our courses and any related training or administrative services we provide.
Course means a training course, examination challenge or event offered through the Website.
Seat means one place for one student in one course.
Student means the person attending a course.
Buyer means the person who books and pays for seats.
Who can use the Website and book courses
You must have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction — 19 in British Columbia — to create a buyer account and make a purchase. A student may be younger where the course allows it: the CFSC is open from age 12, the CORE course from age 10, and the CRFSC from age 18. Where a student is under 18, a parent or guardian must make the booking, agree to these terms and act as the main contact.
You must provide accurate, current and complete information and keep it up to date. We may refuse, cancel or suspend a booking if the information provided is false, incomplete or misleading.
Accounts
Some features require an account. Each student account belongs to one person and one email address. Keep your login details secure, do not share them, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity carried out under your account.
As part of a booking, we may create an account for each student so that they can access course information and materials. Student accounts are created without sending the student a marketing message.
Bookings, seats and students
A booking is an offer to buy seats. It is confirmed when payment is accepted and we send you a confirmation. Seats are limited and are allocated in the order bookings are confirmed.
Each seat is for one named student for one course date.
You must provide the required details for each student at checkout.
One student may hold seats in different courses.
A student may hold only one seat in the same course offering.
Student details must be complete before the course begins.
If you need to change the name on a seat or transfer a seat to another student, contact us as early as possible. We will accommodate changes where the course allows it and the law permits.
We may correct pricing, description or scheduling errors, and may cancel a booking affected by an error, with a refund.
Prices, payment and taxes
Prices are in Canadian dollars. Taxes are shown at checkout and are charged in addition to the course price unless stated otherwise. We may change prices at any time, but a change does not affect a booking we have already confirmed.
Payments are processed by Square. By paying, you authorise the charge to your payment method. Payment card details are entered into Square’s secure payment form, and we do not store your full card number. If a payment is declined, reversed or charged back, we may cancel the booking. If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before starting a chargeback.
Refunds and deferrals are governed by our Refunds policy.
Course changes and cancellation by us
Courses require minimum attendance. We may reschedule a course, change its location or instructor, or cancel it because of low enrolment, weather, safety concerns, instructor illness or events outside our reasonable control.
If we cancel a course, you may choose a refund or a place on another course, as set out in the Refunds policy. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs you incur, so please do not book travel until we confirm that a course will run.
Prerequisites and eligibility
Some courses have legal prerequisites, including age, residency and licensing requirements. You are responsible for confirming that each student meets them and for bringing the required identification. If a student is not eligible, we may refuse entry or move the booking to another date. The Refunds policy applies.
Student conduct and safety
Our training involves physical activity and, in live-fire courses, the supervised handling of firearms. Safety instructions are mandatory.
Follow all instructions from instructors and range officers.
Do not handle any firearm, ammunition or equipment unless you have been instructed and are supervised.
Do not attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and do not bring prohibited items.
Treat other students, staff and facilities with respect.
Comply with all applicable firearms, hunting and range laws.
We may remove a student from a course for unsafe, unlawful or disruptive conduct. Removal for conduct does not create a right to a refund. We may also report serious safety or legal concerns to the appropriate authorities.
Certificates, records and regulatory submissions
A certificate or record of completion is issued when the student meets the course requirements. We submit the information required by the RCMP for the CFSC and CRFSC, and by the BCWF for the CORE examination. We do not decide whether a licence, registration or examination result is granted; those decisions belong to the authorities.
We keep course and student records as described in our Privacy Policy.
Course materials and intellectual property
We own or license the Website, course materials, text, images, video and trademarks. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use course materials for your own learning. You may not copy, record, share, publish, sell or use them to run your own training without our written permission.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without payment or attribution.
Acceptable use of the Website
You agree not to:
use the Website unlawfully or in a way that harms others;
scrape, copy or harvest content or personal information;
attempt to access accounts or systems you are not authorised to use;
upload malware or interfere with the Website;
impersonate another person or create accounts using false details; or
use the Website to send spam or unsolicited messages.
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these rules.
Comments and user content
Comments are disabled on the Website. If we enable them in future, we may set additional rules and may remove content that is unlawful, abusive or off-topic.
Third-party links and services
The Website links to third parties, including, but not limited to, Square, Google, the RCMP and the BCWF. We do not control their sites or services and are not responsible for them. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Website and its content are provided for general information. We deliver courses with reasonable skill and care, but we do not guarantee a particular result, examination outcome or licence.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity, arising from your use of the Website or a course. Our total liability for a claim relating to a course is limited to the amount you paid for that course.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including your rights under British Columbia consumer protection law, or liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the Website, or your infringement of another person’s rights.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account if you breach these terms or if we are required to do so by law. If we close your account, you may lose access to course materials. Refunds are governed by the Refunds and Deferrals policy.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia. The courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction, subject to any right you have to bring a claim elsewhere under consumer law.
Before starting a legal claim, please contact us so that we can try to resolve the issue.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The updated version will show a new date. If you continue to use the Website or book a course after a change, the new terms apply to future bookings.
General
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a business transfer. We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. These terms, together with our policies, are the entire agreement between us about the Website and our courses.
